Let's Talk About The Bowl

On Sunday, I watched a game of games. I watched teams roll down the field, surpassing personal injury, penalties, and extremely rough play. I was able to witness some amazing plays, some bad calls, and some truly inspiring moments. As these teams fought tooth and nail to gain the advantage at the end of the game, I became emotional myself as I saw how close one team can come to victory only to have it taken away in the final seconds. I laughed, cheered and cried for my team. As the game came to a close, I sat back and realized I had seen a masterful work of artistry blended with the sweat and tears of a hard-fought battle on the gridiron.

Of course, I am talking about Puppy Bowl V on Animal Planet.

It was amazing. A chow charged down the field, dodging the offensive onslaught of the Chihuahua and the Beagle, side-swiping the black lab at the 40 yard line, and barely getting by the doberman to finally reach the endzone where a spirited dance ensued. It was glorious. And halftime? I could have watched the evil Democrat Springsteen sing a collection of songs penned in the 80's, but instead, I chose the Animal Planet Kitty Halftime Show. Much more interesting. Kittens running around, playing with toys, and even one chewing the ear of a teammate kept me adrenalized for the second half.

I'm a man who likes his sports, and Puppy Bowl V delivered.
